World Association Plastics Packaging for Dangerous Goods ICPP elects new President

Bad Homburg, April 4, 2018 – On its General Assembly in March, the ICPP International Confederation of Plastics Packaging Manufacturers elected a new President for four years.

Thilo Klein, Schütz KGaA/Germany, was unanimously elected President by the delegates from Europe, America, Asia and Africa. In accordance with a rotational system he follows Jerry Geyer, Greif/USA after four years of presidency.

Vice-Presidents Chris Lind, Mauser/USA and Dave Tatz, Megapack/South Africa were unanimously confirmed for another four-year mandate.

The European industry of plastics packaging for dangerous goods was present with representatives from six European countries. The next ICPP General Assembly will take place in spring 2019 in the USA.

According to the statutes of the association, the ICPP-secretariat is hosted by IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V., the German Association for Plastics Packagings and Films: IK managing director Dr. Jürgen Bruder is also General Secretary of the international organisation. ICPP is accredited with consultative status at the United Nations and attends regularly the meetings of the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods in Geneva.
